skill recognition

We live in a drastically changing world where skills are rewarded exponentially. But employers required these skills to be recognized.

Open badges make the process faster, easier, and globally available. The recipient can use the badge across any sector, industry or country.

transfer of skills

Unlike physical certificates or credentials, the metadata of digital badges can be transferred across the web to other digital exchanges or learning providers. Physical borders will no longer be a barrier to transfer skills.

ESTABLISH A DIGITAL IDENTITY

With the help of these digital credentials the recipient of the digital badge can establish a digital identity of their own and showcase their talent.

HOW IT WORKS

ACCORDING TO OPEN BADGES

Open badges operate on interconnected resources that follow the structure and guidelines of the open badges standard.

According to Openbadges.org

“A single Open Badge consists of a unique set of an Issuer, BadgeClass, and an Assertion”.

Here an issuer is the organization that’s awarding the badges. The metadata of the digital badge will include the name, description, contact email address, and website URL of the issuer.

BadgeClass is the description of a recognized single achievement of a learned issued by institution or organization. It includes information such as name, description of the course, and graphical representation of the badge.

Assertion is the record of an individual’s achievement of the badge. The assertion links to one badge class and contains information specific to one recipient’s achievement such as the awarded date, encoded recipient identifier, and a link to evidence.

At TruScholar, we follow the same process in creating digital badges with our associated learning partners and students.

We work along with the learning partners to create the digital badge based on the course or learning experience and award the badge to the learner or recipient after successful completion.
